The Pilates Difference Studio is a Pilates and Barre Studio in Plettenberg Bay. We are a Stott Pilates® trained studio with additional schools of training contributing to our offerings; including internationally acclaimed bootybarre®.
We offer Group classes in Mat, Barre and Reformer. As well as various equipment sessions to smaller groups, duos and privates. We have Cadillacs, Reformers, Stability Chairs and Suspension Trainers—ensuring a comprehensive Pilates experience.

Founded in 2017 by Colleen Tomlinson, the studio was created with a clear vision: to honour the true essence of Pilates.
Our approach goes beyond exercise—we aim to empower our clients to become stronger, healthier, more mobile, and deeply connected to their bodies. Pilates here is not just a workout; it’s a lifestyle and a commitment to long-term well-being.
At The Pilates Difference, your experience matters. We’ve created a welcoming, uplifting environment where you can feel comfortable, supported, and energised—whether you’re here to build strength, improve mobility, or simply take time for yourself.
You’ll find our bright, spacious studio at the Yellowoods Centre, centrally located and surrounded by cafés, shops, and local conveniences.
Tucked along a quieter street with ample parking, the studio also offers beautiful views stretching toward Keurbooms Beach and the bay.

Beyond our classes, we provide a range of workshops, events, and courses designed to deepen your practice and expand your understanding of movement.
We also offer mentorship programmes for those looking to grow their knowledge, refine their skills, or take their Pilates journey to the next level.

Fiona
Fiona embarked on her Pilates journey 12yrs ago as a client, with very few expectations. At that point she was a spinner and cardio fanatic and I really thought Pilates would be too slow for her.
How wrong she was.Since then she has certified in Stott Pilates Comprehensive Mat and Reformer, trained across all equipment and Advanced Pilates Suspension Method. She loves that Pilates works your entire body, in a controlled and safe manner, from head to toe.
It lengthens and strengthens, you get out what you put in! She is passionate about Pilates and incredibly fortunate to be able to share her passion with likeminded clients.

Pilates has taught her how to move with intent in the space one is in, and to be mindful of each moment you breathe. To her the art of living is:Breathe to Connect, Eat to Nourish, Drink to Hydrate, Sleep to Rest, Move to Improve, Think to Thrive, Speak to Inform, Listen to Understand, Cry to Heal, Laugh to Live, Live to Love

Having been involved in various sports throughout her life, including running, tennis, padel, and hockey, she has always had a passion for movement and staying active. She was drawn to Pilates because of its ability to build strength while improving flexibility and posture.
